WELCOME TO MY BLOG. 

My name is Patricia (Patrycja) I am a student of Art and Design Foundation at DMUIC Leicester UK. I have chosen this course because I would like to express my creativity every day and learn new things that I am passionate about. I love to practice drawing, make new designs, read and watch movies about all kinds of Art. I have a good eye for detail and this course could allow me to bring my ideas to life. I have always dreamed to study in the UK which is known to be world-class. I am planning to improve my current skills and to learn new ones.

I am writing this blog because I would like to record all my work and progress to become a Digital Artist - Graphic Designer Illustrator and work on Adobe Creative Apps: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Procreate, and more. I want my style to be bright, colorful, bold, and cheerful.

Many artists inspire me to make more Art one of them is Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was a Mexican artist her paintings often had strong autobiographical elements and mixed realism with fantasy.

Another artist which inspire me is a young American artist with a Filipino heritage Alex Cabal born and raised in Los Angeles. Her projects include people of all races and backgrounds. She loves to draw colourful women  Her works is very impressive. She can't rarely resist adding a flowers to complete look of her vivid and bold digital projects.

I would like to see some more research and commentary here on the artist that inspires you. What interests you about her work and what have other people said about her work?

Artist research - Michael Martchenko - Canadian illustrator

Michael Martchenko was born in 1942 in Carcassone, France and, as a boy, became interested in comic books and cartoons. When he was seven years old, his family moved to Canada where he attended Ontario College of Arts in 1966. While working as a creative director at an advertising company, he was noticed and approached by an author of children's books, Robert Munsch and his publishing house. The two artists quickly found out that they have a lot in common and their fruitfull partnership was born. It can first be appreciated in  The Paper Bag  published in 1980. Ten years later, Martchenko published his own children's book,  Birdfeeder Banquet , wich was well accepted by the critics and often compared to his earlier works with Munsch.  His work was described as full of humour and panache. I Hate Art - Angry Dog - Edvard Munch

Angry Dog is a painting by Edvard Munch painted in 1938-43 the painting shows a big black angry dog with the tongue hanging out. The dog is standing outside in the grass and there are birch trees behind it. the dog is looking at the viewer clearly angry. We can only see the front half of its body. This painting ia a story between Edward and his neigbours dog. The painting is carelessly painted as if by a child. I do not like the fact that the brushstrokes are thick,  defined because it makes the painting seem unfinished unflatering without any techniques and skill. The paint is smeared on the canvas which has many visible blank spaces.  For me, the painting should be more realistic and precise with many details. I am not a fan of abstract composition.
