ABOUT ME PAGE. My biography

I am Patrycja Ruszczycka I am an avid swimmer currently studying Art and Design at De Montfort University International College. My progression route in Graphic Designee Illustration. I live in England, but I am originally from Poland. My passion for art started after I had won a painting completion in primary school. Since then, I have been gifting hand-painted cards to my family and friends. I have found out that the recipients of personalized birthday cards or gratulation cards really enjoyed the gift.

 In 2012 I made the decision to move to England which put my passion on hand. Now I have finally found the courage to persuade my dreams in a foreign language and started studying. I have discovered that all my creative ideas might be developed in digital format. This is why I am so keenly interested in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, InDesign. I am fascinated by the fusion of traditional art and modern technology. 

In the future I would like to tie in watercolor and ink pen with the digital programs to produce everyday art such as personalised occasional cards, birthday cards, thank you notes, book illustrations, and covers, T-shirt prints and more.

Artist research - Michael Martchenko - Canadian illustrator

Michael Martchenko was born in 1942 in Carcassone, France and, as a boy, became interested in comic books and cartoons. When he was seven years old, his family moved to Canada where he attended Ontario College of Arts in 1966. While working as a creative director at an advertising company, he was noticed and approached by an author of children's books, Robert Munsch and his publishing house. The two artists quickly found out that they have a lot in common and their fruitfull partnership was born. It can first be appreciated in  The Paper Bag  published in 1980. Ten years later, Martchenko published his own children's book,  Birdfeeder Banquet , wich was well accepted by the critics and often compared to his earlier works with Munsch.  His work was described as full of humour and panache. I Hate Art - Angry Dog - Edvard Munch

Angry Dog is a painting by Edvard Munch painted in 1938-43 the painting shows a big black angry dog with the tongue hanging out. The dog is standing outside in the grass and there are birch trees behind it. the dog is looking at the viewer clearly angry. We can only see the front half of its body. This painting ia a story between Edward and his neigbours dog. The painting is carelessly painted as if by a child. I do not like the fact that the brushstrokes are thick,  defined because it makes the painting seem unfinished unflatering without any techniques and skill. The paint is smeared on the canvas which has many visible blank spaces.  For me, the painting should be more realistic and precise with many details. I am not a fan of abstract composition.
