ODILON REDON

We had pre-recorded lecture with Mrs. Zoe. She talked about an artist named Odilon Redon. We had to write notes about biography and his art.

I managed to write them as follow:

Odilon Redon was born on the 20th of April 1840 in Bordeaux in France and he died on the 6th of July 1916 in Paris. He was a painter and printmaker. Has a name from his mother name Odile. Redon started drawing at age of 15. His father wanted him to study architecture. In 1856 Redon failed the entrance exam for architecture studies at the Ecole Des Beaux-Arts but after that, he started studying sculpture. Odilon stayed in Paris with his friends such as: Gustave Flaubert, Edgar Allan Poe.

Redon creations were dark in grey shades he didn't use colours almost in all his career.

  1. There was a lot more information in the lecture than you have here in your notes - what did you think of the work? Do you think he is someone that you would look at for your project? Also, check your referencing (you can use Cite Them Right on the DMU Library website).
