Making backgrounds of book. I have used: three different gouaches: - Holbein gouache (Japan Brand) - Arteza gouache ( U.S - American Brand) - Himi - Miya gouache (Chinese Brand) Various watercolour brushes / different sizes such as: 0/3, 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10 - round - flat - wash Posca markers watercolour paper - 300 gsm / 140 lbs , completely Acid- Free, Cold press texture , Natural White, A4 size Gouache is a water media commonly known as an opaque watercolour. I used water to thin the paint down so it can be used thin and transparently or I used thick opaquely if less water added typically I worked from thin to thick. I started with a very diluted wash of paint and gradually build up the opacity by adding less and less water. Gouache is more forgiving of mistakes than watercolour.
