Reflective seminar Discusion - The Fishbowl Method
In today's online lessons we had a seminar discussion about our project ideas named The Fishbowl Method. The method allows every student to talk about their projects and other classmates could listen to the ideas of everybody and critically discuss, ask questions and talk about opinions, ideas and explore these further. After this exercise, we reflected on the experience. I found this experience interesting because I could listen to everybody's ideas for their projects. This allowed me to reevaluate my ideas and thoughts. It strengthened my conviction that I am on the right track. I wasn't sure that my concept is strong enough because I had many ideas I didn't know which to choose and I have recently changed my plan slightly.
This exercise helped me develop listening, speaking skills, however, I could have listened more actively ask more questions, and give some more feedback. I always pay attention to what other people say but this form made it even easier because I could focus on a smaller group of people and listen to how they discuss. I didn't participate as much as I could have because I am a reserved person and do not talk much. I wish I could speak more.......
Some good reflective thoughts here, there is room to improve your skills in a session like this as you will be participating in seminars when you go onto your Undergraduate course next year.
