Developing Skills and Knowledge: drawing face

How I studied drawing face by using basic guidelines proportions?

I started by preparing equipment such as: pencils, eraser, sharpener and sketchbook. I learned that facial proportions are not the same for everybody but depending on how person which we are drawing looks like. Face shows expressions and emotion for example joy, surprise, sadness, anger, fear.

Firstly I draw an upside-down egg shape and I divided head in half vertically and horizontally

after I divided under horizontal line on 3 parts ( line between eyes and chin)
first line it is a bottom of the nose
second line it is bottom of lower lip
third line it is a chin

usually earlobes line up with the bottom of the nose but top of ears are line up with eyebrows

Eyes are about one eye-width apart (we can fit five eye-width across the face)
wide of the nose should line up with the corner of the eyes

  1. This is a really good effort, but in the session I directed you to the storyboarding presentation. Please have a go at that one as well - I think the idea of a narrative is important as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator and also looking at composition is a vital part of your work. However, you worked well on this task and there is an ongoing improvement in your drawing abilities.
